Hi all, I have a 1970 4500 TLB and the tachometer is backwards (needle swings from left to right ) from all my Ag tractors and doesn't work, should there be a reversing gear set up to make this work?

as said.. 65-75 model tachs ran off the back of a generator gear.

If the engine had been changed to a newer model, the tach could run off the top of oil pump on the side of engine.. this newer setup had the tach run from the other direction as it spins in reverse. so.. behind the oil filter, do you have a tach drive sticking out to allow the newer tach? or do you have the original engine and someone changed out the instrument panel? Or combinations of all of the above?
