Marvel Carbs

any good ideas on the best place to go for a new/rebuilt Marvel carbs? Trying to keep this one I have (TSX-765) from leaking, gas costs too much right now for that, thanks

I have a friend who is also having trouble with his marvel leaking after he took it apart and attempted to rebuilt it himself.

Like a toilet valve leaking, dirty water can prevent the float valve from sealing. Dirty gas, rust in tank, can do the same. Sediment bowl can't handle everything.

I've had briggs carbs leak, both my old marvels leak when they aren't running.

My solution is install a gas solenoid valve that shuts the fuel off when you turn the key off. It's under a $20 fix. My terramite came from factory with solenoid. Saves on gas running on ground. In case of briggs, saves gas from running in cylinder, then in crank case.

On the other hand, if your marvel drips when running, you have a serious problem.

In years past nnalert had them but they are not cheap800 as in toll free 828 the next then 3276

My old tractor starts good, idles like a kitten purring and runs great.

But sometimes if you do not cut the fuel off at the cutoff the carb will leak.

I have just trained myself to insure I turn off the gas if I am going to be away from the tractor for a period of time.

Those electric cutoffs would be nice, but like manual cutoffs they go bad and leak in time.

Dad put a 1/4" brass ball valve between the sediment bowl and the carb about ten years ago on his Case 300. Works good once your in the habit of turning it off at the end of the day.

Its always best to shut the fuel off when parked.
If you need it rebuilt, I do that.
Email me for details.
