We had a fabulous fall day today.
71° and sunny.
I knew it was coming and 'arranged' my work schedule so I could work on my tractor.
I switched the old transmission and rear end with the one from the school tractor.
I didn't get it started but it's pretty close.
Snapped a couple of photos as I went along and one final one this evening.
They were both pretty clean so it wasn't too bad of a job.
Kenny stopped by a couple of times just to give me some grief.
He might take the old unit to replace the 6X4 he has in the 4400 he's building.
Good thing I hoard wooden blocking.
I used about every piece I had.

Great pics Jerry. I like the blue and cream color combination. Will this tractor be a keeper (until something else catches you eye)?

Looking good! I missed the reason for the swap.
Was the original transmission going bad or just wanting the 8 speed?
Assuming that twin stick is an 8 speed here!
Great looking tractor no matter what.
Amazing how the blue matches from one to the other.
You'd think the same guy painted them! LOL ;)

Thanks Rick.
We'll see if I keep it.
I'm hoping it's the cat's meow.
It has to be able to replace a 3000. Which is a pretty tall order.
I'm looking forward to running it next year on the rotary cutter.
See if my plow will track behind it for plots.
It will get snow duty again this winter.
