I have a 1966 Ford 2000 when I use the Bucket it makes a sound like it has air in the System, I use it for about 5 min The fluid started to foam and came out the overflow. It has no leaks could this be the pump?

A couple of questions;
Is the pump run off the front of the crank shaft or is it the the original pump on the left side of the engine?
Have you checked the oil level?
Could you be sucking air on the suction side of the pump?

Thank you for responding back hydraulic motors on the front of the motor I believe it still original when I was running the machine the suction lines were actually sucked closed . The fluid level is full

replace suction line with new HARD line that will NOT collapse. Cavitation and heat problem will go away. Make sure fluid is not full of water. Noise will quit also. Moving up to a tractor rated hydraulic fluid will help with anti foaming property, but the collapsed hose is first and foremost. Make sure system is not low on fluid to create vacum.

SOME models will have a slipping drive coupler on the pump.that will squeal, but a collapsed hose will be louder.

squealing can be cavitation. this can be from an obstructed pump inlet and or water in the system too.

Soundguy,
I had a pressure washer pump do that to me. It would run until it got hot, 10 minutes. Then the water that leaked past seal, would start to boil, white foam came out the pump vent hold. Had to get a new pump.

Just my opinion here, but I've seen many issues caused when people leave equipment out in the rain. When I bought my Jubilee, I replaced all the fluids. Half what I drained from tranny was water.

I screwed up using a pressure washer to clean a tractor before I painted it. I got water in every compartment on the tractor. Cost me a head gasket, valve cover gasket. Had to remove lift cover to get all the water out of the hyd compartment. Draining the oil still left water in the hyd compartment. Lesson learned, water and tractors don't mix.

I've bought a tractor that was submerged from Katrina, had lots of silt in it, had to literally pressure wash the sumps out!

Hope you got the tractor cheap.

It would be kind of hard to top that. However, I had a 40 year old 275 gallon oil tank. It had so much sludge in the bottom, I took a pressure washer and cleaned the tank through the bung holes. I bet I got 5 gallons of sludge out. Didn't have to replace nozzles after that.

When I pulled the PTO shaft to replace seal, there was about an inch of dirt in the rear end. It took me forever to reach inside and scrape and wipe out the crap out. I don't think the rear end oil had ever been changed. I don't see how changing oil would get the crap out either.

For what it was, it was priced correct. But yeah had to open all the sumps and side covers pressure wash everything, then rub about 12 g diesel and alcohol thru the castings to dewater it
