Well feel free to laugh I don't mind but I have inherited a Ford. I have been told that it is an 8N and a Jubilee and I don't think it is either. The serial number is behind the starter but it is difficult to read the numbers. I am in desperate need to rebuild or replace the old Marvel carb on it. I have attached a couple of photos that could help the cause, thanks in advance.

Welcome to the Ford board.
Your pictures wont show up untill you have 10 posts or so.
For a really good read on old Ford tractors and how to ID them you should check out John Smith's great site. Click below.
Then come back here.
So you got this old tractor.
What are you going to do with it?
Fix it? Use it?
They are pretty fun if you got a use for one once in a while.
That's how I got started. Father left me a 2N.
I'm still running his fenders. A couple of tractors later.

I am going to be using it which also means fixing it. I have been looking at the Smiths, it looks like I have a hundred series. It has the one piece axle, serial numbers are just behind the starter but having difficulties reading the numbers to figure out exactly what I have. I think it is a 55 or newer. Thanks for the help and hopefully I can start getting it cleaned up and running better soon.

From what I can see there are two lines of numbers, 21 on top and then I think 39643. It is a 4 cyl, 4 speed with 3 point hitch.

Sounds like the first digit is missing in the first number. Most likely a 621, but possibly an 821. Almost definitely an "01 series tractor. That would make the 39643 a 1958 serial number.

A 621 and 821 would have come from the factory with no 3 point lift and no PTO, but lots of folks added one or the other or both after they left the factory.

Post the casting number on the right side of the engine block and we should be able to tell you if it is a 134 ci engine or a 172 ci. The 134 would make it a 621 and the 172 would make it a 821.

The casting on the side of the block is 310905 with a 2 under it. I sure do appreciate all the help, wish I could post a picture or two but I guess I haven't posted enough....

You could ask the moderators to remove the picture
exclusion, or you could email the picture to me
and I would post them for you.
I think you're on the right track though.
If you numbers are aft of the starter, its not an
8N.
Does the grill look like either of these?
First one is a 640, second is an 8x1.
Second picture borrowed from the internet.

I am almost positive I am looking at the 600 series. It definitely looks like the top picture you posted without the lights.

(quoted from post at 04:02:43 10/19/14) I am almost positive I am looking at the 600 series. It definitely looks like the top picture you posted without the lights.

600, 601 and 800 series share the same appearing grill.

310905 is a casting number for a '58-'59 134 engine, so it is most likely a 1968 621 that had the 3 point hydraulic system added.
