Ford Industrial ID Help SOS Tranny

Need help with the ID. This is an early Ford Industrial with a 712 loader. It has an SOS tranny with an early series casting number of 312259. Seems like the label under the casting suggests 59. I don't get the 5 in the model number. I would have guessed it was an 1881 or 1871 and possibly a D for the Diesel.

Thanks Rick

Thousand Series tractor serial numbers -

Thanks guys, clearly had a brain fart. How likely would it have been to have a tranny manufactured in 59 on a 61 model?

Hello Rick , Looking at the serial number you can see a faint 34 before the 815 and the missing digit would be a 1 , 134815 which would be a 1961 40405-D Heavy Duty Industrial Tractor . The 5 means it has three point hitch and single speed 540 rpm pto and the D of course means it was a Diesel . The casting date looks like A-5-9 which means Jan. 5 1959 , which would be very likely on a 1961 tractor even on early 1962 models . It also looks to be a Four wheel drive tractor with an Elenco axle or was at one time . Thanks Tony
