3000 vs 3600

Other than comparing specs from sites like tractordata, what are the biggest differences in these two tractors? Lets assume they are both diesel engines and 8 speeds.

They're pretty much the same tractor.
3600 has a higher volume hyd pump which puts out
about 8.4 gpm vs 4.2 on a 3000.
3600 has a filter on the pump too.
3600 has updated electrics too and uses an
alternator instead of generator.
Also has two lift handles giving you draft with
position control whatever that is.
3600 also has an oil cooler for the rear end oil.
3000/3600 share about 95% of the same parts.

Our plant had a 3600 that took much abuse, but if
you are going to install a front end loader, the
front axle center bearing is light duty.

It broke one day under a heavy loaded front end
loader, taking out the whole front of the tractor.

It was repaired and was back on the job.

The 3600 must be a good tractor to take the abuse it
got and still kept going.

I do not know anyone with a 3000 model.

The all-purpose front end will break or at least wear out the pivot point in the front casting with a front end loader. At some point the pivot size was increased to help this problem,, maybe around 68 or 69? However Ford made the industrial and utility versions with heavy duty front ends that were designed for front end loader work. ie 3400 AND 3500. 340 AND 350

I believe the 3600 had improved power steering over the 3000 also but maybe that was the 3610. The grey matter is not what is used to be.
