I just picked up a working 640 that the sheet metal's got me confused on. The center hood section, I guess the hood door, is 7/8" narrower than the hood opening at the front of the hood. At the emblem housing the hood opening measures 10 1/2"W. The underside of the hood measures 9 5/8"W. Needless to say, this doesn't work out so well. I'm trying to figure out whether an after market emblem housing that is too wide was installed by the PO, or whether the hood door has somehow been squashed so that it is slightly steeper, and a lot narrower? I'm new at this Forum, and this tin fitting stuff, so I'm hoping someone with a proper fitting hood can share their dimensions and advice. I'll try to learn how to post pictures if needed. Thanks
