English made (serial number)

CRS1951

New User
On the english made Ford 3000, the sn starts with a B, where can I look to find what year it was made? Thanks for help.

Unfortunately, the European serial numbers are not documented anywhere. Post the other numbers that are near the serial number and we can decipher them for you. One is the model number and the other is the unit number, which tells you the date that it was assembled.

B851205,
B896697, These are two sn. that I have . Thanks for
help with year mfd.
Thanks

How can you have two serial numbers on the same tractor? Was one of them on the foil sticker on the underside of the hood? If so, post all of the numbers on that sticker.

The numbers that I'm asking for are the model number and the "Unit Number". The model number, if it's a 3000 would be 6 characters long and start with either 310 or C10 followed by two numerals and the last character being a letter, like 31012C or C1022C or something like that. And the Unit Number would be 3, 4 or 5 characters long, starting with a single digit number followed by a single letter followed by a one or two digit number and possibly having a letter at the end, like 9D12B or something like that.

I'm sorry about confussion.

I have 2 of these tractors.
Tractor # 1 ---B851205
Tractor # 2 ----B896697

Well if you can't find the other numbers (they should be stamped right by the serial numbers), then post some pictures and we can probably at lest give you a range of years that it's likely to be, as there were some differences through the years they were made.

Sean, Please be patient with CRS1951. He's old and can't remember stuff. He probably walked out to get the other numbers and then forgot why he walked out there. Something I've done before. :)

If 1951 is the year he was born, then I'm not far behind him.

Here's a good picture on tractordata that shows where on the tractor to look for the numbers and it also has an inset close-up of the actual numbers as well:

Here's another picture of the alternate location of the numbers on the foil tag under the hood, although this one's in pretty bad shape you can still see the numbers stamped into the foil:

Print those pictures out and take them with you to the barn next time so you won't forget. :D
