Draft control plunger spring interferes with cam follower...

More 841 woes. Never had this many headaches
before.

Background: lift would lift with no weight on it
but would not lift with weight on it. Would leak
down quickly. Pulled lift cover to replace piston
oring.

Cam follower pin was worn 1/2 through so
disassembled to replace. Did so.

On reassembly I was trying to adjust the lift per
Zane instructions. It looks to me as thought the
(new) cam follower pin is interfering with the
draft control plunger spring. See pics.

Do folks think a part is bent?
Thanks in advance.

I don't know - but your pin looks long compared to a picture of my I have. I do not have mine apart right now to measure, but maybe someone else can advise.

I agree with you, follower is too long.

My cam was worn so much that I made my own pin so the part that rubbed against the cam is 1/2 instead of the normal 5/16. Cam follower only has to be long enough to ride on cam.

Your cam looks better than mine. Some of my control rods are worn so badly that the last pin only touched half of the cam.

Put it back where it belongs. I think the bottom pin, the longer one, is the pin that the piston comes in contact. It should be long. The other pin is the cam follower pin and it isn't much more than the width of the cam.
