metal unloading valve compression ring - how to reinsert ...

Hi,

I bought the little metal compression ring for the
841 unloading valve.

I can;t figger out how to reinsert the unloading
valve back into its cylinder. The metal
compression ring is (obviosuly) a bigger diameter
than the cylinder bore, but the cylinder is recessed
inside the lift cylinder body so i can't get any
kind of ring compressor on it.

Feeling stupid.

thanks

Bill

don't know. Hope some with that experience comes along, but I might consider pushing the bushing out, installing spool, pushing bushing back in.

ugh. I can get the "bushing" out - the small
diameter sleeve that hods the shaft of the valve.
The actual cylinder in which the sealing portion of
the valve slides seems pretty thin walled and I am
100% sure I would booger it all up getting it out.

There is a special tool the one inserts the unload valve and ring into, that fits on the counterbore and provides a smooth transition from tool bore to unload valve bore. Shouldn't be too hard to duplicate.
