I am in need of a rear axle for a 1955 ford 800. The part number per the Ford Parts manual is a 4244 shaft and bolt assembly.
I have searched everywhere on line and I cannot find anyone with an axle. I can find all the bearings, cups, collars etc. but now axle. Can anyone help me by chance?

B9NN4244A still shows availability on the CNH website but has a superseded number that is not disclosed there. Messicks shows it for $350.13. If your S/N is prior to 48642, you'll also need to replace your side gear P/N 313208 for $23.23 because the spline count on the shaft changed from 16 to 38.

Try James MacFadden Jr., Box 220- Rte 20, Sharon Springs, NY 13459 -- 518 284 2090 or 2871 and Roberts Farm Eqpt, 11377 St. Rt 732, Camden, Ohio 45311, 513 796 2154 (800 367 8751)

Don't know if the 600 and 800 use the same axle shaft or not,
but if they do, there's a 16 spline on the Wausau Craig's list.

According to CNH they're different.

(quoted from post at 08:32:15 10/03/14) wengers list a used one for $155.00

Thank you for your lead. I ordered it today. Now just need to get the bearings etc. to make it as good as I can.
