What’s up guys:
I am working a 1953 golden jubilee ford tractor, I need to replace the oil seal on the power take off shaft, I know I have to drain the rear end and pull the shaft, but how do I pull off the oil seal ? Am I going to have to press it off and press the new on or what.
I would like to have your thoughts on this::::: MANY THANKS AND HAVE A NIGHT

You need a repair manual.
The I&T FO-19 manual - available from this site for about $30 - is chock full of good info on how to repair and overhaul all systems on your tractor.
That said, remove the 4 bolts and pull the pto shaft out. Look at the inside of the bearing housing and you will see a circlip. Remove that and then drop the pto shaft on a board on the concrete floor on the long end of the shaft. The bearing housing should drop off.
Now you can replace the seal which is also available from here.
It's a very, very simple task.

frain hyds AND rear sump prior to pulling out. and when restabbing it.. don't hog out the inter sump shaft seal.
