Rest O Ride seat

I'm in the need of the rubber springs and have tried calling and leaving messages at Minn-kota along with leaving a message on their website but no response. Where can I get good rubber springs??

From what I understand, Minn-Kota is no longer in business. I am in the same boat as you in that I need good quality rubber springs, and found this out last month. Many people say that the aftermarket ones are junk. If you find a good supplier, please post it up. I'm running my standard seat for now until I can find something.

FYI - CNH still carries them, but you are looking at about 200 bucks for the pair.

Thanks,
Kevin

You can get good quality torsion springs from CNH but they are expensive.

I know of no other source for quality torsion springs.

I was just browsing in this forum and sadly saw your post on the closing of Minn-Kota. They did best quality work at reasonable prices.
I had them do a pair of Case seat springs for me several years ago, and they sent them back completed with an invoice in the box. Where else would someone send you the finished product on the promise of payment. Those kind of folks are hard to come by these days.
The antique tractor guys are really going to miss them.

Irv, let me start by saying I have no knowledge of what happened
that caused them to go out of business.
Honest, hard working people tend to be trusting of others to be the
same way and that shows in your description here.
Lack of payment by a few freeloaders may have contributed to it.
If you know of any of them, please give them a good boot in the rear.
If I had [b:986e9474e5]proof[/b:986e9474e5] of it I would post their names along with the proof.

I don't have another good source either and no CNH dealer near by.

It was a private company and when the owner died, it closed up. I visited him at his farm on the road to Ortonville. I think I had bought some used tires for my Allis. He had a tremendous collection of old toys that he had mostly pulled out of a land-fill over many years. Paid a tip to the operator to throw toys in a separate tank.

Try Korves Oliver, I have bought 3 sets of the rubber torsion springs and they do work on a rest-o-ride seat. Need to make sure you clean the paint and rubber out of the passages. Talk to Mark at 618-939-6681 website is www.external_link.com

I have a buddy that has a restoration shop that says that Steele Rubber out of North Carolina can recast rubber parts. He has them do motor mounts for real obscure vehicles that you can't get reproductions for. Said they work well. I'd think if they can recast a motor mount, that's probably in the same ballpark as a Rest-O-Ride spring. I'm going to call them next week and see what they can tell me.

Will post back if I can find anything worthwhile.

Thanks,
Kevin

Thanks Kevin, I would certainly be interested if they can!
