got clutch out of NAA about a cup of water came out of bellhousing area, cotter pin hole plugged with old grease or oil, clutch oily and rusty. so will take to a shop thatrebuilds them, he is good. so how do i know if oil is comming from motor seal or trans area, or maybe not enough to worry about from either?

Look at the engine side of the flywheel. If it is covered in oil from the center out the main is leaking.

yes ill do that tomorrow. should i be concerned about the trans leaking?

Transmission seal is an easy fix and I would replace it since you have it split. It is over 50 years old so taking the time to replace it may save you $$ in the long run

well thanks for the great info. yes trans seal was totally useless so will put in a new one. as far as rear on engine i dont know for sure, looks like it may leak but back of flywheel was not bad, by the seal itself there is some oil build up. can it be replaced just as easy with the tractor together as split?
