I split the tractor awhile back and put on a new ring gear, clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing and never timed it after doing the 12 volt conversion. I borrowed my buddys timing light and holy cow she was out a ways ,i'm amazed it even ran!I got close to the 475 rpms and with some carb tinkering.I was having a hard time seeing the timing marks,so a took a small paint brush and marked 4 degrees BTDC.Wahla i can finally see it with the light.Tighten down the distributor and watch the temp gauge. I noticed it was going up into higher green but not into red, then it would go down. So i took her for a ride an kept an eye on the temp.It stayed in the green raising and lowering as i drove.Think im watching the stat opening and closing. Made it back to garage ,shut her down and did not back fire. Thanks again to those that have posted, appreciate your knowledge.Don
