Hydraulic valve thread fittings

What thread is used on the 4000 era hydraulic remote valve body where the lines come out. It"s not NPT. I"m looking for the specific thread not just British Standard or whatever it happens to be. I"m hoping to order something better than the adapters on adapters which are on it now.

There is a name for them threads and for the life of me cant think of it. Keep looking. Tried putting npt in mine and had to rework the threads. Hydrualic shop gave me the name.

depends on the valve body i guess.

many of the repops can use 3/8 orb fittings. that's is a straight thread like a bolt thread and uses an oring and slight chamfer groove to seal. many times you see banjo bolts and brassh crush washers on banjo fittings.

The ones that are 3/8 orb i am pretty sure "equate" to 9/16 bolt thread..

best i can do for you without knowing more about YOUR valve. just telling you what my aico and tisco valves use.

Hi
This might not be as simple as you think. I just went online and looked at the genuine CNH parts pages for a 4000 tractor with 3 cyl diesel. there are a few different bolts listed for factory blocks/ hose fitting kits if what you got is a factory block, if not it could be any goofy sized fitting from round the world. most just list a part number and no sizes.
one I found with a size said 9/16 by 18 thread. Now weather this is what fits your tractor I have no clue.
welcome to the world of old iron and trying to figure out what you have actually got and somebody elses mess.
Sometimes I spend more hours trying to figure out parts online, than I do wrenching on the guys tractor due to 200 options (L.O.L) on a part in some makes of tractor.
Regards Robert

They take a hose with a banjo style fitting if the valve is OEM. The thread is 9/16" NF.
-6 ORB fitting will thread in, but there probably isn't any land for the o-ring on the valve port.

The good news is that the ports are just a simple #6 ORB. The bad news is that it absolutely requires a banjo bolt to hook it up... and to find that fitting in a crimp outside of the NH parts system is just about impossible. The last set I bought I think cost me in the vicinity of 80 bucks per fitting... but if ya need it, ya need it.
I've never had any luck finding them through the aftermarket at all.
Actually, I think the last set I changed... I use banjo adapters into pipe thread. That wasn't quite as expensive and if the lines rot off again I can just replace with pipe thread ends so it's cheap... but it takes a bit of work to fit everything. IIRC, I had to heat and bend a valve handle to clear the lines on the right side, etc.

I stock that banjo crimp fitting sourced from Weatherhead to fit 3/8" hose with the rest of my hose & fittings.

Weatherhead supplies a crimp on hose end of the banjo type. TISCO has them. Your local friendly NH dealer would be the easiest place to get the hollow bolts and seals.
