7610 hydraulics

I'm working on a 7610. It's got P.T.O. problems. The tractor driver is Hispanic and don't get much information. He said that it made a noise and quit. Hydraulic oil is full. The hydraulic remotes work and everything else seems alright. Where do I need to look?

does that unit have an independent pto clutch like i think it does? If so I'de be checking pressure there at the control valve.

Start by getting a 300 psi gauge in the test port of the front manifold of the main hydraulic pump... or tee into the line feeding the dual power/FWD clutches if it has that. If it has neither one... remove the ORB plug on the bottom of the pump and hook the gauge in there...
You want to see 160-180 psi. If you see 100 psi that's low but probably not the problem... If you see nothing, you either have a plugged strainer in the pump, a broken pump shaft or a leak somewhere near the pump.
If pressures look good, I'd suspect a major mechanical problem in the PTO clutch.
That will require a rear split to access if the tractor has a load monitor.
