6610 neutral switch

My 6610 is open station with 8 on the tree. It looks like I have to take the cover off the transmission to replace neutral switch. It looks like I have to pull the steering wheel and take the shifter out to get cover off.

Advice welcome.

The steering motor is seeping a little, and the upper bushing on the shifter is shot, so I might wait for spring and do them both.

Thanks

I'm almost positive that you do NOT need to pull the steering wheel off, but yes, you do need to remove the shift levers up and out of the way. Those syncro trannies require a little care in putting the lid back on also. You need to be careful about lining things back up inside.

No need to remove the steering column but I think you have to remove the shift levers and the guards around them.
