I have it installed on my 850, question is the sticky tag attached to the block {faces toward distributor shaft}is that supposed to be left on?? Thanks Don

I'll try to help, but don't understand your question. (Not enough coffee yet!).

Not sure what the sticky tag and block are. Are you talking about the little coil that goes over the distributor shaft...or???

since it works with magnets, paper shouldn't make a bit of difference.
(my pertronix units have been in my tractors so long, I honestly can't remember if I took them off or not...)

If you don't find a definite answer, let me know and I'll go take a look.
got 2 or 3 that have been fine for years, so if I look and it's still there........well, then I guess we'll know for sure

I was going to say the same thing, but wasn't sure I understood. The paper shouldn't matter.

The parts (coil and plate) do have to be oriented correctly. The coil only fits on the shaft one way. Take the time to make sure the coil fits down all the way on the distributor shaft. The ones I have installed took a good bit of hand pressure to seat properly. Otherwise it can be ruined when you try to start the tractor.

Thanks to those that responded, i did contact pertronics via email and am waiting reply. I watched a you tube video and that was on a Farmall and he left the stickers on the module. I will find out soon.
