Looks like the original front tires. I guess it's a good thing that it is not closer to me.
 
I think the blue paint started in '62. The blue paint in those pictures is definitely a repaint. It's way newer than the paint on the sheet metal, plus it's not a true match to the old Ford blue paint. Also, the grill says that it's an 801 or 1801 series, and they were all red originally.
 
Rear end center section has the horizontal ribs. That "improved" unit came out around 1960 as I recall.
 
Hey guys,
I bought the 841 on Craigs list. It's a 1958 841 S. Has the Sherman combo in it with power steering. Unlike the ad it was not in excellent condition, and after buying it and putting down a deposit, the guy wouldn't sell it. He reposted it for 7500.00 and had no takers, he finally called me a month later and was ready to sell it at the agreed price. Normally I would have passed on it, but at 3500.00 it was still a good deal on a tractor I may never have the chance to purchase again.
The front axle needs to be removed, as the housing is cracked from the center pivot bushing being out that the saddle is riding on the axle.(OUCH)...ball joints, which are bearings need attention.
So it is a project, however the 4 wheel drive works, the motor runs well with a few leaks.
It was origionally red and white, painted yellow like an industrial probably to match the loader, then blue and grey, then they found out it was supposed to be red, so they started to paint it red. They shouldn't sell spray bombs to just anyone.
Just thought you'd like to know where it went.
 
Congratulations on finding a rare Ford. Good to know it found a good home. I saw where the seller got greedy and raised the price from 3500 to 7500.
