Ford 2000 ORC

Does this need an ORC when running a shreader?
I thought these had live pto to avoid having an ORC. Looks like it has one on here anyway.

I'm a current 2N owner but looking for something with a bit more to it.

mind you my phone screen is hard to see that pic.. but i only see 1 shift lever.. meaning she's a 4spd.. meaning like all other 4spd fords.. she has a non live single plate clutch.

2000's were econo versions .. you see 4spds, 6spds, 8spds commonly.. the 6 and 8 COULD be live, depending. the 4 won't be.

i've not seen an sos 2000 but if equipped with pto.. it would be independent.

Not to say you are but a lot of Ners get confused by live pto vs live hydraulics.
So for the sake of clairity...
All Fords from the Jubilee onward have live hydraulics. The hyd pump is run off the engine and not off the pto like the Ns were. So any time the engine was running you have hydraulic function.
Live pto is a function of the clutch and the gearing in the transmission. So some 1955 and newer tractors have it and some do not.
It really depended on how the tractor was optioned. Likewise, some of the 1965 and newer 3 cylinder tractors do have lpto and some do not.
About the only ways to know positively are either to use it with a mower or some such or get the code numbers off the transmission.
That particular tractor looks to have a simple 4 speed transmission which could Not have lpto.

Those aren't not a great quality pictures, but that one from the rear does look like it's already got an ORC on the PTO as Keith said.
