Ford 5000 shifting blocks

I need to replace the shifting blocks just below the
shift lever. Question is if I have to split the
tractor to change them and if not how do you do it?

If you're talking about the rails... yeah... gotta do at least a rear split. I haven't changed them on that particular transmission but others that I have... they generally extract at the rear.

Don't know if they are called "rails" but there are three pieces that the shifter fits into that move the shifting forks. are these what you are referring to? Thanks Jim

Can you send a picture? There are a few that you can replace without a split.
