Ford 861 Oil Change Questions.

I"ve got a few more dumb questions, but better to ask now than screw something up.

I"m wanting to change the oil on a new to me Ford 861. On the picture I"ve attached, is "A" the oil fill where I would add new oil? What is B?

Thanks.

The part you have labeled as "A" is where you fill the oil. Don't undo the wing nut, just pull the entire breather assembly off of the tube. It's a friction fit.

"A" is where you add oil. Don't unscrew the wing nut; simply pull straight up. "B" is simply a breather in the valve cover. Your car or truck has one too, but it will have a tube taking any fumes back to the intake manifold.

Is there an easy way to clean the breather screens? This tractor is
probably in need of some TLC and they both look pretty dirty...?

Thanks.

THAT is what those wing nuts are for. Tame them off, and you can take the screen out of the housing to clean it.

Understood, but should I soak it in something (if so, what...). It didn't look like compressed air would be enough....

Thx.

Duckkilla,
I take the oil bath air cleaner cup off and dump the oil. Then I put about 1 quart of gasoline in the cup. I use the gas to clean the oil cup and inside cup. Then I clean the oil pan plug. Then I put those 2 screens in the gas and let it soak for a few min while I put the plug back in and get the oil filter changed.
Gasoline seams to be a good solvent for those screens.
