Getting a weak spark to the plugs. I have changed coil,plugs,plug wires,points,condenser,cap,roter. Could I have a short from battery to coil? I ran a jumper from bat to coil,the jumper wire started getting real warm,Not normal? Sometimes have to play with igntion switch to get to turn over.

If you have to play with the ignition switch to get it to work it is bad. Replace it.

This is not your real problem. In fact your real problem most likely made the switch go bad.

You ran a jumper wire from battery to coil but it is getting hot. Sure sign of a short unless you used to small of a wire. You have bypassed key switch so you have to have a short some where else.

Most likely in the wire from the coil to the points where it passes threw the distributor housing.
