im getting ready to do a little farming can anyone tell me what my 860 is able to pull in equipment any body use a haybine, rake or other equipment with an 860 just needing to know before i go out an buy a bigger tractor sure love my little ford

If in good condition, your 860 will handle a small square baler, 7'-9' sickle bar mower, 9'-10' disc (most conditions if not too heavy) and a 3X12 or 3X14 plow in many conditions. Use a 2X14 plow in tough soils.

like Dean said,
and especially with a 800, get some weight on it, filled tires, weights, etc.
Pretty much universal when talking to old 'real' farmers when they are admiring my Fords.
"Nice little tractors....too light though..."

That model was the big tractor on our dairy farm for 25 years. It pulled a square baler with a wagon behind, and any of the other heavy jobs found on a 25 cow dairy in MN. They are a very handy tractor.

I have and have had an 841 form decades. It has a heavy duty loader on it and I have used it for so many things it is not funny. Cut hay with a sickle mower. Raked hay with a 3 point rake and a pull rake and have baled thousands of square bales of hay behind it. At 40-45 HP it is not big but not small either and if good shape will do lots of work and at one time was what was a big machine for it time

860 was our big tractor from '55 till we got a 961-d in '64. Live pto allowed us pulled baler with wagon fine, 8' disc, and either 2 or 3 bottom plow depending on soil conditions. Had fluid in rears and pie weights. Will pull a 9' haybine if not too hilly. Did 1 arm loader work and still starts great in winter. Thirstier than the 961-d though.
