8000's with consecutive serial numbers

These tractors have consecutive serial numbers but were not built the same day. #626 was built Feb 27 1970 which was a Friday and #627 was built Feb 30 1970, an obvious mistake. I'm wondering if #626 was the last tractor produced on friday and #627 was the first produced on monday. If that is the case, the unit date should be 0C02B. Any thoughts on this?

My thoughts are... "what in the heck are the odds that someone has access to two tractors with consecutive serial numbers after all these years?"

Crazy thing is that they're both the same model. It's my understanding that they made all models on the same assembly line and assigned the next serial number to whatever model rolled off the line next.

My dad bought #626 from a Spring Valley, MN dealer about ten years ago. My cousin bought #627 near the same town just this month. The tractors are identical and they both have Cozy cabs. Unfortunately #627 has a bad engine and will be parted out.

Hi Thats a nice find. The closest I have ever come
is less than 200 apart. I got a Belarus i had new
and shipped to Canada, from the U.k one of my
customers, has a tractor been here since new. His
is 200 out. I have a fordson P6 tractor, got a
customer one here the same 175 out. and i also
have a fordson super major thats less than 200
from one my friends son has.

Hi Thats quite the luck to find that as well. I"m
probably thinking you quit buying lottery tickets.
As you were probably always one or two numbers out
from the jackpot to! L.O.L

About 25 years ago dealer worked at got bid for 2 555B TLBs. Had to be consecutive s/n Had 1 on lot found other somewhere.

After my dealings with fleet orders and working at
Winnebago I have come to believe that they don't
necessarily make things in serial number order.
They assign the serial numbers and then schedule
production. I would guess that both tractors came
from the same dealer and where ordered at the same
time. Don't get me wrong It's neat that you found
those two. When I ordered vehicles (cars & trucks)
we often got consecutive serial numbers. Had 4 F-
150 pick ups that were consecutive.
