Ford 8000 serial tag

Can someone explain the unit date and hydraulic pump date on this serial tag? 0B30B would be Feb. 30 1970 day shift, correct? The 28th was the last day of Feb. in 1970. Am I reading this wrong or is this a factory mistake?

The 28th of February, 1970 was a Saturday, so two days later would have been a Monday, and whoever was stamping the tags must have just incremented the number for the day of the month by 3 from the prior Friday.

Maybe they were trying to meet some monthly quota so they inflated the Feb numbers by continuing the month for an extra couple of days!

Wonder what rocket scientist at Ford decided to put the serial number tag behind the tool box lid? That one looks better than most I've seen.

Probably the brother-in-law of the guy that stamped that sticker with a February 30 date code.

I know what you mean. The tag on my 9000 is about half gone. They could have just as well put the tag on the top of the drawbar.
