I have a ford 4200 with a Holley carb that only runs smoothly with the choke partially out. Carb has been rebuilt twice but still has same result. Starts right up and runs but needs choke out a 1/4 of the way. Push the choke in (no choke) and it hiccups. Thanks steven

hollys almost always have bad acceleration pumps as they were in the bottom of the bowl and any water would rust them shut.. so if it does not change speeds well as in giving it more gas, that is the pump in the bottom of the carb.. the pump usually is so rusted that you cant get it apart with out damaging the carb.

There are a couple of real good carb guys here that have had good luck rebuilding those hollys.
Myself and many others here who aren't so good at carbs finally bit the bullet and replaced the holley with a Zenith.
Pricey but it made a man out of the 4 tractors we've put them on.
This is assuming you have been through all 4 fuel filters in that system and are sure you are getting fuel to the carb in the first place.

X2 re your comments. OP, you might want to search for Holley/Holly on this site. You'll find this is a pattern failure in these carbs. The carbs were used on 2000-3000-4000 models beginning in '65.
