Hey guys! Found a nice looking Ford on Craigslist
down the road from me a couple hours. It looks nice
and I think the price is right, but I have a few
questions before I drive 2hrs to go look at it. IG
is advertised as an 801, but I believe its an 801
series, and actually an 871 tractor.
Anyway, guy says transmission is good and goes into
all forward and reverse gears (has Select-O-Speed)
but it won't shift into "Park". Is this something
major or do you have any ideas why?
Secondly, if I wanted to add a small loader, will
the factory hydraulics handle a fully hydraulic one
with two-way cylinders or will I need to add a front
auxiliary pump for just the loader. I'm not sure how
the hydraulics are set up on these. Guy says it has
one set of outlets at the rear.
In really don't know much about these tractors...I'm
looking for a good little utility though and do have
some experience on a Ferguson TO-30 and Ford 8n;
though I want something a little bigger now with
hydraulics, live PTO and power steering. Thanks for
the input!!
