Ive run into a reacuring problem on this style power steering on 2000 or similar tractors, even massey ferguson models,
The fluid leaks out the top of the steering wheel.I changed the top seal and it lasts for awhile, the next one I changed the top and bottom thrust bearings and seal.better longevity but im not sure I have cured ALL problems
Anyone out there with ideas or experience in this issue??
Thanks guys

You have a good point there,No grooves to speak of but a little wear. Are there speedi-sleeves available or is it totally a machine shop job?
Thanks
Pete

No, it does not need to go to a machine shop. You can purchase them and install it yourself. Carefully measure the diameter of the shaft with a calipers or micrometer.

Then go here and choose your sleeve: www.skf.com/binary/12-128020/11337_2-EN-SKF-Speedi-Sleeve.pdf

It also has install procedures.

They sell that sleeve here at YT.
Might not find it under 2000 but 600,801,2000, 3000, 2600, 3600, and the SU nodels all have the same shaft size and if you don't find it under one of them you will find it under another.
Also, which 2000 do you have - 3 or 4 cyl? If 3 cyl and your shaft looks good someone could have installed the wrong PS pump and you're running 800-1100 psi instead of the correct 600-800 psi.

Good point on the pressure,The guy has a aftermarket pump on.I will check the output and adjust pressure.
Everyone on this site has helped me MANY times in problems
Thanks
Pete
