Not my tractor - know nothing about it - just seen on CL. But if you timed it right you could slip over Columbus OH buy it and take directly to the Portland IN show.

Around here he'd be lucky to get half of his asking price. A person has to be completely tractor ignorant or else know exactly what he's doing before buying a 6000.
I once thought I was going to get one for $500 at an auction and a guy who was completely tractor ignorant bought it for the auctioneer's opening bid of $1500. Someone asked him if he knew anything about the 6000 and he said "No, I just wanted something bigger than my 8N".

I have been seeing a lot of interest in them. Compared to say three years ago.

From what I've been seeing lately that probably isn't a bad asking price. If a guy has one that is good and uses it they would really like it. As showcrop said it seems like interest in them has skyrocketed lately. There were a couple on Auctiontime a few months ago that brought somewhere in the $8-9000 range. Bought 4 of them at a salvage yard auction in 2001 for $500 total. Wish we could do that again. I bought a red widefront last year at an auction that has been sitting for a while but had a complete M&W turbo kit on it for $500. Its the next project as well as the red 118 5 bottom plow we have to go with it.

Saw a nice one at the little tractor show near me last Sat. at Lancaster, OH. Spent a lot of time on one of those beasts in my late teens. Never had problems with the SOS itself, there was a seal in the rear that went bad and Dad had to replace the crank. Not a surprise as we ran it hard. The one for sale is south of Columbus, seems like a decent price. Would like to have one for nostalgia reasons, not for a heavy worker.
