my dad bought an 800. it ran and over the winter painted the tractor, replaced a broken manifold, new points, condenser, button, wires and plugs. now the tractor will only hit for a second. he then rebuilt the carb with the same results. I went for a visit and thought I could solve the problem. if I spray fuel directly into the carb it will run. I took the new intake off and checked the head for damage thinking it wasn"t getting vacuum enough to suck up the fuel. my dad said it had two gaskets on it when he took the old one off. the number 5 port (rear intake hole) was raised and not flat. maybe the reason for the double gaskets? any help would be great, as I have had to return home from the visit.
