Cleaning up the NF that I'm thinking of putting on the 4000. Looks like it's the correct one my tractor. Can these #'s be matched up anywhere to help me make sure before I pull the WF off? Can I use the same hubs off the WF? Some pitting on the one side but don't think it's severe enough to really harm anything just plowing snow and doing a few food plots.

i'd prolly run it too. if i found myself loosing sleep, a lil braze and filing and then emory paper till smooth..

pitting could cause severe bearing failure at high speeds. So be sure to keep it under 50mph..

Sorry.. it will work fine for farm use.

Ford started using those 3XXXXX numbers with the introduction of the X01 series tractors in late 1957. I'm 99.9% sure the hubs are the same.

i'm pretty sure you are correct on the hubs.. my 950 frankenstein NF has 1 front hub off a newer series machine with a grease zerk and raised nubs to guard it, and it fits fine on the old 55 spindle, same bearings and all. have no idea what the hub is off of.. but it is ford...

Non issue.

The bearings do not turn on the spindles unless something is wrong.
