spindle bearing

hello all,
set out to replace spindle bushings on the 841
today. Got the old bushings out ok, but can"t get
the remains of the thrust bearing out of the axle
assembly.
Tried heat, drilling, pounding from the side, all the cuss words I know,
but it acts like it"s welded in. Any ideas?

How much heat did you use? Did you use a little butane thing, or an acetylene torch? You need to get it red hot, and then you can pretty much melt it away if you're careful. If all else fails, cut it out with a cutting torch. A small gouge in the casting won't hurt much if you have a small oops. Of course, there's always JB weld... (never mind, I didn't say that).

Yeah, I used a little propane thing. It's all I've got.
Probably need to take it to someone who knows how to use a torch. I'd melt it down, likely.
