Howdy, just bought this two bottom Dearborn plow. Anybody
know what color these plows were? Someone told me gray.
Thanks Jack

Very nice plow - even has the coulters and jointers. Dearborn plows were red, although the early ones may have been grey - to match the 9N's? But yours is a Ferguson, not a Dearborn. Fergusons had the curved cross piece that the 3-point arms hook to; Dearborns were straight.

Looks good the way it is too me.

If it still has the data plate and it's been painted over, you might talk with the local paint shop and buy some material to dissolve the paint, do not try to scrap it off as that effort can ruin the plate.

If you could find some sandy or Rocky soil to plow, that would clean the paint off the wings, then paint them with John Deere wing paint.
It protect the polished surface, but slides right off at the next plowing.

Great find, with all those parts still on it. Some one really took care of it over the years.

It's not a Dearborn as already mentioned, it's a Ferguson-Sherman. Get a rag with a little gas and see if you can rub off the gray paint on the tag to see the model number. Dearborn was the new distribution company for the new 8N in July 1947 and all of the implements to go with it after the Ferguson split. This plow is correct for 9Ns and 2Ns. It will work on an 8N as well. Ferguson Equipment was dark gray like the 9N and 2N tractors as shown. All Dearborn Equipment was 8N Vermilion Red.
