Went to start the 7610 yesterday to bale and it would not start. Finally started and first time we stopped engine had to pull it off to refire. It acts like it's not getting fuel. I tries to start at low throttle but cant. I cant believe its a fuel filter because it runs perfect at higher RPM. Fuel Pump?

Does it have dual fuel tanks? Is the top tank empty? I've been chasing an air leak on one of the lift lines on my 7710 for a while now and it does the same thing... if the top tank is empty it loses it's prime, usually over night... but sometimes after a couple of hours. Opening the bleeder on the filter housing and operating the hand primer will clear the air fairly quickly... or quite often just holding the foot pedal to the boards and cranking her over will clear it depending on how bad it is.
You'd want to check all of the primary lines between the back of the injection pump and the tank for looseness or leaks. This will probably not present as an actual visible leak... so move the lines by hand and see what's loose... there are rubber gaskets on the line from the pump to the filter housing that are probably deteriorated and that is causing the leak..

It does have dual tanks--always wondered how fuel gets from one to another--gravity?
I will check lines for leaks--it does mimic air in lines when it tries to start.

Does it have the inline Simms pump? If it does the lift pump could be bad. Check valves in the lift pump have been known to get loose.

Fuel flows by gravity from the top tank to the lower tank. The lift pump then draws from the lower tank. The leak is masked when the top tank is full because it never leaks enough to show much dampness... but when the level in the tank draws down below the point of the leak it will draw air into the line...
Check the line from the back of the injection pump to the filter head. Most likely has bad seals.
