661 fair price

Nice old boy down the road wanted me to get his tried old 661 going and try to sell it .Tractor has given me fits trying to get running right ingnition gremlins up the ying yang. Finally got the problems ironed out.Runs well .proof meter shows 9900+ hours, compression 128# in all cylinders, tries fair, somebody painted it blue and grey with a barn broom. I"am trying to determine what a fair asking price would be? I replaced the water pump and added 12V alternator as well.Thnaks Chuck K.

It's probably worth more now than it was when you started.
661 is not rare. No Fords are.
But it's uncommon.
I'll venture there were 3 or 4 to one on 860/1 vs 660/1
Folks who could afford to buy the options bought the bigger tractor to go with them.
It would be a nice tractor to own. Enough power to do most tasks and not so thirsty as the 172.
But it is a Hundred after all so not worth more than $4000 in most cases.
Pictures would sure help us help you.
I see loads of Ns for sale around here, there's a couple 4000/900 RCs and a 541 for sale locally. A couple of 3000s. I haven't seen a 100 Series utility around here for several months so the market for one would probably be good.
A couple grand maybe, cause you're on the tractor boards and in the know and are doing your homework - that you can have more tractors if you buy them cheaply. $1500?
We don't know your relationship with the old guy either.
It's always a factor in a deal like this.
Did I mention pictures?
We probably don't need pictures of him of him to value the tractor. Pics of the tires would be better :)

Depends on where you are. Prices vary from region to region. Around here in southeast PA it would probably go for $2500.00 to $3500.00 with the variance mostly based on the condition of the tires, as if they are near the end of their life replacements will be well over $1000.00.

I think for most hundred series $3500 is tops. Unless it had a recent complete overhaul and new tires.

The widow that lives next door to me wants to sell her late husbands 801 diesel. It has poor rear tires, a problem with the injector pump and 3rd gear.Last I asked she wanted $7000.00!
