3600 power steering pump rebuild

pump is leaking fluid into engine, went to order the rebuild kit. i found there were 2 types available. one with 4 single lip seals and one with 1 double lip seal.

has anyone used either? which is easier?/ better?

called a parts place today they said, you have to tear the pump down to know which one to order.

has anyone had such an experience? the pump is the one with the reservoir contained, has the filter inside.
