Update on the lights,
when i turn key on, the battery and air filter light come on, thats it-no others. after i crank it the batt light goes off, and now instead of flickering on and off the air filter light stays on.( i did mess around with the air filter assembly- did not remove just straigtened it up and tightened the cover screw down.)
while it was running i pulled the connector to the oil sender and the oil light did not come on. the original harness looks intact. i bought it from the original owner and said he never had trouble with it, just bought a new tractor. it has 2300 hrs. the tractor has not been repainted and it looks to have the original blue paint on the engine gaskets.
another piece of info that may help... the valves clatter like i would have the cover off. very noisy like they are loose/worn... perhaps due to a lack of oil???
anyway, the engine runs pretty good, cranks right up. i just need a way to figure out the oil pressure light. can a bulb be burnt? i have air filters ordered in the meantime.
thanks for any guidance,
david
