Ford 5600 Hyd leak

I just got started mowing yesterday (Ford 5600), was on about my
third lap around when I noticed hyd fluid spraying out below my
right foot. I shut it right down and was able to see that it was
coming out where the pump bolts to the transmission case,
spraying towards the back from in between the two. There weren"t
any cracks that I could see at the time. The pump was still working
fine and I didn"t notice any other problems. Could that just be a
gasket that blew out? If so, what might cause that? The filter and
fluid are fairly fresh, only about 10hrs or so since I changed them.

If it really is leaking where you say it is, then the bolts holding the pump on must have been loose, because those tractors just don't do that. I've been around dozens of those tractors and have never seen or heard of that happening.

I would say you blew the quad-ring between the pump and the housing. The mounting gasket does not seal the high pressure passage.

does the 5600 have a hyd spin on filter down there under the running board like a 4600? wonder if it could be a leak near that that is just blowing back down the center setion?

just WAG as i don't have a 5600..

No, but I wish that was it. The filter is up just below the seat. I cranked it real fast and looked to see where it was coming out. I haven't used this tractor much and I'm not real familiar with it yet. It stays on a farm about 30 miles away which I can't get to very often, so unfortunately I had to call for someone to come get it. I'll try to follow up once I find out what it is. Thanks for the help.
