Is there no end to the courage that it takes to price parts with these people? John Deere has nothing over on New Holland when it comes to gigging you...

Yeah, some stuff they're mighty proud of.
What was it that you needed?
Some things you can't find anywhere else and gotta bite the bullet.
Other things like seals, orings, etc I'm finding at my local bearing house for a lot less than NH gets.
Re: my post above about the 4400 PS I am going to go first to my local hydraulic shop and see what they can get me before just calling the dealer and laying my debit card on the counter.

I realized two years ago that they were telling me to leave and don't come back. It is amazing the places you can find to buy parts when you look.

The sad part is the dealers are made to look like the bad guys and they are not at fault. Dealers suffer from the loss of customers as well as lower margins when NH raises the cost to dealers but not the list price.

I have a newer dealer nearby but they don't stock a lot, more interested in selling overgrown lawn tractors to suburbanites. So I needed some Ford parts a couple of years ago and went the 35 miles to the real NH dealer to get the "right" parts. I needed the 3 point rebuild kit and axle bearing seals so I called and they said it was all in stock. Didn't have the 3 point kit and another guy says this on will work. No outer seals either. Can you send them? Sure. I get home and the 3 point kit is for an MF. Then they sent another pair of inner seals. I called and asked how many tries they need to get it right the buy says "Sometimes ten or twelve." I didn't laugh. Finally got the seals and kit but never took the wrong ones back, or paid for them.

I apologize for the long story but I've been wanting to post this rant for a while.

Our local NH dealer is worthless. Will NOT service anything over 5 years old. And like showcrop says, I finally figured out they didn't want to help me with anything. I absolutely understand what you're talking about Mike. I use a local guy that used to be MF/Deutz/Allis. He's no longer affiliated with any of those companies, but does order from the big parts houses and can get anything I need, for Ford or IH.
