Ford 3000 Steering column leak

with lots of help from this forum, I replaced the upper seal on the steering column which leaked badly. Reassembled it and it worked fine for a while then started leaking again. Any suggestions?

What did the area of the steering shaft where the seal runs look like when you took it apart?
Any rust, pitting, corrosion or wear?
I can't tell you from here how yours looks but if there is any of the above defects that is likely your problem.
They make a speedi sleeve to repair that area.
It's a very thin sleeve that fits over that area and gives you a good clean surface for the seal to ride on.
They sell them on this site.
If you are sure you installed the seal correctly and your shaft is good then the only other thing I can think of that would make it fail prematurely is if you have the wrong ps pump.
Pump from a 4000/5000 tractor looks identical but 3000 pump runs at about 700 psi whereas 4000 pump runs about 1100 psi.
Only a gauge will tell you what pressure you have.
