nice
I'm jealous
got 14.9-28 R1's on my 4000 RC NF (blue 961 like)
One has a bulge and cords are coming apart.
getting too dangerous.
Having some trouble finding a good used one local
so,
I pulled a set of 13.6-28 Turf tires I had in the shed (ugh, turfs)
and put them on for now.
silly looking.
Those meaty 13.6 Ags of yours would have looked much better!

NNP, yep, know what you mean.
14.9's on my 4000 RC and 960 also! (960 needs a repaint)
I think they look good on those tractors.
13.6's don't look that big on this tractor when all together. LOL

I've got a couple spare tires around UD, but nothing to brag about.
I'm sure you're watching SearchTempest every now and then!
Dug this tractor out of the weeds. You've probably seen the posts.
I think I bought the tires and the tractor came with them.
They're on "new" rims too, never had CaCl in them.

Year and a half later or so, I've got it running and working well.
Now to pretty it up a bit.
Anything free is worth what you paid for it? Hmmmm.
Not if you count your time!

"That is one nice looking 4000! Is it a SOS? U paint it yourself?"

It is a SOS, bought it pretty much just like you see it.
Lower front pedestal had been replaced and I painted that.
Otherwise that's how I got it.

I know this is probably a dumb question, but what is the purpose in having the front wheels so close together? I know RC is row crop, but how does that work? The way I see it I can straddle a row with my 8N, but it looks like you would have to split two rows with that setup, and that is gonna put you real close on the rears too. ????

No, not a dumb question at all.

The "row crop" designation basically refers to the height to clear
the rows and the ability to adjust the width to fit the rows.
The narrow front end was an option on a RC.

The purpose of the narrow front end is to fit implements around
it such as cultivators that you need to see and mounted corn
pickers. They also have a much tighter steering radius.

Here's a video of Ford9000Puller's corn picker in action. YouTube

Thanks, that explains it. Liked the video too. It seems to me that all the new gps controlled combines doing everything with the operator just along for the ride takes all the fun out of it.

Glad to help Tim!
If you didn't see it, Tom Bond just posted another picture of his
4000 RC with a wide front here. He sure makes 'em look good!

I grew up in Deere country and all had narrow fronts.
Narrow fronts between rows, and rears set out to fit between other rows.
As a kid, I once asked the farmer how he drove thru crops without hitting them.
He said "put them narrow wedge shaped fronts in the depression between rows, and it will about drive itself"
