One can't simply exchange one refrigerant for another.....

And one needs to replace certain items,and evacuate system after repair before replacing 'freon'

Unfortunately, these ads for 'picking up a can' at the local auto store
has made it seem like it's 'simple'.

And if the system was originally R12, it's not available to the neophyte !
