Aloha SoundGuy Started to install the PTO shaft today only to find out the thrust washer slipped halfway down. I didn't want to take off the seat assembly out in the field by myself. I got a piece of one inch PVC pipe put some grease on it applied it to the thrust washer and it held it up long enough to install the PTO. I am taking your advice on the mower drive shaft. I am going to clean and buff out the shaft. Any recommendations on what kind of lube I should use, currently using NAPA red and tacky. Mahalo Mike

I like to clean my pto shafts often as even with shields they accumulate crud easilly, I buy the cheapest #2 grease available. doesn't even have to be EP. walmart usually has an amber light duty tube #2 grease for about 1.50$ a tube. Over in the islands.. who knows. might be quite a bit more.

The red n tacky you are using is MORE than fine. though probably a pretty penny.

Good job on the grease/stick job. it's the easy answer to the common dropped thrust washer problem
