1963 Ford 4000 fuel line

Need a new fuel line from tank to carb. Fairly short one and has a small rubber section on it. Must be for a tough bend or vibration. I think Ford part number is 86580561. Whats the deal with the price? All web sites are $125 to $150. Wow!

OEM fuel lines are still available from CNH but made in low volumes these days. The low volume runs account for the increased price.

Try your local CNH dealer in person. The last one that I bought was around $60.00 but this was about 5 years ago.

why most of us make our own..
But,
When you need an OEM part for a restoration, or in some cases when the OEM part is the only game in town, you just have to pay the price. (at least it will fit and be right)
Low volume parts where the aftermarket hasn't started making copies, ya gotta pay.
I will swallow hard and pay the price for some OEM parts.
Big strain, tight clearance stuff that HAS to fit right.

Always am awed that I can go into a dealer and get a factory part for a 50-70 year old machine. "Yep, we have one of those on the shelf"

However I have noticed a trend lately on some OEM parts, that it is the same worthless new junk made by the aftermarket, in a CNH bag. Shame. When I walk into a dealer, it's because I want/need the real deal, not a copy..........

most of us make them from brake line. either the short path by the manifold, or around the front or back.. whatever uoi want with a tube bender and 5-9$ worth of brake line.

I cut the rubber section out of mine and hose clamped fuel line in place.

Now why did I not think of that. Thanks for the simple great idea. Been on the N board for years but now just bought a non running 1963 Ford 4000. Hope i do not pester too much.
