6610 rear remotes

I cannot get the tips to lock in. i am using pioneer 8010-4 tips and neither top nor bottom will lock in today. Has been working fine. what would cause this?

The ball in the coupler has pressure behind it. Relieve the pressure behind it and it'll latch in.

I usually kick the valves into float, then couple. Then rock the valve handle back and forth after you start the engine. The smart thing to do... is float the levers BEFORE you UNCOUPLE. Then they reconnect easily.

If you're talking about those needle point couplers... they DO NOT work on Ford leverless coupler sets...

I've had to do this many times. Seem to end up with a nice spray of hydraulic oil on my pants for my trouble haha!

I will reiterate again... if you are looking at the two stage release, needle point couplers, they will not work on those remotes. They may flow oil out but they will not return... the point of the coupler tip slips into a void in the tractors coupler and the tip does not engage to open. I probably spent 4 hours one blistering hot afternoon several years ago trying to figure that out... and when I did I heaved the set of those things I had so far I don't know where they landed.
They'd probably work fine in a pioneer female coupler but they require a ball to work against, not a hollow point tip that those Rexroth remotes have.
