Ford 2000 up and running :) :)

I finally got the electrical end straightened up by replacing the generator, cleaning contacts on the voltage regulator, and insulating the resistors on the back of the vreg from the frame.

After mowing for about 30 minutes, my fuel line clogged again. After draining the tank and removing the shut-off valve, I discovered that the in-tank filter had come off from the shut-off valve and there was some debris wedged in the valve. The inside of the tank did not look as bad as I thought it could have. There were a few rust particles around, but most of the tank was fairly shiny.

I am not sure why the filter came off. It felt pretty snug when I put it back on.

At any rate, after cleaning the tank, filtering the debris out of the gas, reassembling and refueling, I was able to spend about 3 hours mowing trails. The tractor only stopped running when I turned the key off. (and just to be sure the battery was okay, I started it right up again without any problems)

Some day I may dig in and try to get the power steering to work, but for now, I think I'll just get used to it as it is. I am ready to be done working on it for a while.

Thank you all for helping me get my tractor working. The input I received from you was invaluable to me.
