Trouble shooting the charging which it doesn't seem to want to do. It is diesel 12V, how much voltage/current does it take to make the indicator light go out. My digital meter seems to have a loose connection in it so I am using analog. It seems to be putting about 12.5 to the battery but measuring at the genny It is significantly more, and it is putting the light out.

the indicator lamp is a current flow / voltage potential thing. when the genny is not making power, the lamp can light due to potential difference and current flow. when the genny boot straps, the potential on either side of the lamp is same so no current flow.

that is a b circuit setup.

do standard test.

jump arm to field and observe bat voltage at mid throttle. if nada, jump bat to field .. still nada? jump bat to arm, then try the above tests.

if all that fails, pull belt off jump bat to arm and then bat to field and see if the genny motors
